The new community will be located between MLK Jr. Boulevard and Manor Road.

AUSTIN, Texas — Community developer StoryBuilt on Monday announced that pre-sale opportunities for a brand-new Central-East Austin community will be kicking off in February.

A total of 80 townhomes and 36 single-family homes will soon find their way to a new development called George, located at 2211 E M Franklin Ave., which is located between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Manor Road.

The townhomes will have one- and two-bedroom options with balconies, private yards and parking. They will range from about 626 to 1,700 square feet.

The single-family homes will offer two- to three-bedroom floor plans with yards and two-car parking. They range in size from 1,468 to 1,728 square feet.

The first homes are expected to be complete during the fourth quarter of this year. They will range in price from the $290,000s to $600,000s.

“Our new community answers the demand for new housing in the very heart of Austin, near Mueller and all the East Side has to offer,” said Hannah Rangel, StoryBuilt development manager. “Austin is seeing an unprecedented level of growth, and we are proud to be a part of the housing solution by providing high quality, energy-efficient homes with a modern design and beautiful finishes.”

Geoge will be located near the Morris Williams golf course, Mueller Lake Park, Bartholomew Park, Givens District Park, Rosewood Park and Recreation Center, Oriens Park and Parque Zaragoza Park.

So, why the name George?

The company says it has been sponsoring a “fun-loving and wildly entertaining” red-lored parrot at the Austin Zoo by the same name, who has neurological issues that affect his balance and require him to stand on flat surfaces. StoryBuilt plans to host events for its families at the zoo in the future.
