We had the absolute best time in Dallas on Saturday, September 11th as a sponsor of White Rock Que on behalf of our new White Rock Valley community, Goose.
The event started as a friendly contest between 4 neighbors in Lake Highlands and turned into a neighborhood favorite. The organizers decided to start fundraising for a cause near to their hearts by raising awareness for and supporting Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center. WhiteRockQue has raised over $200K to date. DARCC provides advocacy, crisis intervention, counseling, prevention education and support to anyone impacted by sexual violence.
This year’s event took place at Oak Highlands Brewery, providing beer, BBQ, and music. We were not ready for the absolute buzz of happiness that flooded the whole party. Doors opened at 4pm and it was a joy to see how much people love this event. It’s a big party, for sure, but it still keeps its neighborhood feeling and it was really something special. Spoiler Alert: the grand prize went to the the Team Wildcatters pitmasters.
Good times, great food, better cause. All money raised at White Rock Que goes directly to DARCC and they can use it wherever they need it most. We’ll see you next year at the Que.
